Cheesesteaks Come Up Short at Boston, 7-6
|
The Philadelphia Cheesesteaks got a sterling performance from shortstop Dave McDonald, but the Boston Revolution still prevailed, 7-6. McDonald went 3 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Mal Martin earned his 1st save in 1 tries. The last-place Revolution go to 69-88.
In the bottom of the sixth, Boston shortstop Scott Everhart put his team on top. With one out and the bases loaded, he hit his 3rd double of the year. Philadelphia pitcher Tomás Quintero served it up. Just like that, the Revolution were ahead, 6-5.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Everhart said.
