The Philadelphia Cheesesteaks knocked off the Reading Railbirds, 8-3, at William Penn Park. Steve Baker was a big reason Philadelphia won. The center fielder went 3 for 4 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The defeat makes the Railbirds 5-10.

Chris Hall had a big 2-run home run for the Cheesesteaks in the bottom of the first inning. With Philadelphia leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 34-year old right-handed pitcher José Méndez and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Cheesesteaks on top, 3-0.

"If you don't take any pitches off, you've got a chance to impact the game, and that's what we did," said Philadelphia skipper Joey Santangelo.
