Burn Suffer 4-1 Road Loss
|
Chris Mitchell, who finished 4th in the FR in wins with 17 in 2069, never let the Burn get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Jail Break to a win, 4-1. Júlio Vázquez was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 10 of 14 save opportunities. At 66-92, the Jail Break are currently last in the Frontier Coastal.
Alcatraz Island took a 4-0 lead on Vicente Méndez's 21st home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Méndez hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Death Valley pitcher Eric Bennett visibly frustrated.
"Chris gave us a heck of an effort," said Alcatraz Island manager Justin Fusco.
