Chicken Haulers Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The 5-4 Amarillo win over Washington was due in large part to Cal Greene. The Chicken Haulers center fielder went 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Amarillo reliever Luke Edwards picked up the win, upping his record to 2-7. Eduardo Torres absorbed the loss. The Chicken Haulers sport a record of 52-107.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With no one out, Greene hit a fastball from Eduardo Torres for a run-scoring single. The Chicken Haulers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Our team showed some gumption," said Greene. "I like it."
