A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Keg Creek Coyotes and Vermont Lake Monsters.

The Vermont Lake Monsters could not turn a fine performance from center fielder Carlos Delgado into a win. Instead, the Keg Creek Coyotes prevailed, 9-5. Delgado was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2. The third-place Lake Monsters dropped to 75-84.

Keg Creek won the game in part because of Tom Day. The first baseman ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Coyotes ahead, 9-5. For the game, Day had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Day.
