Railbirds Take Down Cuervo, 5-4
Reading and San Jose duked it out and the Railbirds came out victorious.

The Reading Railbirds beat the San Jose Cuervo, 5-4, in 13 innings at Welsh Field. Reading right fielder Roberto Clemente had an outstanding performance. He was 2 for 3 with a home run. Bartolo Salazar came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record now stands at 5-3. Martín Burgos got the save, his 12th in 14 chances.

Clemente had a game-changing home run in the top of the 13th. On a 2-2 fastball from Jim Hines, he banged a solo home run to right-center, giving the Railbirds a 5-4 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Clemente.

"Winning breeds more winning, I guess," said Clemente.

Reading has now won 7 straight, while the Cuervo have lost 3 in a row.
