|
Philip Baker was a major factor in the 7-4 Death Valley win over Mexico City. The Burn catcher went 2 for 6 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Death Valley reliever Brandon Holcomb picked up the win to move to 5-5. Andy Baker suffered the loss. Picking up the save was Rubén Gallegos, his 5th.
Death Valley used a timely hit from Francisco Ojeda to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the 12th inning to put the Burn ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"Winning never gets dull," said Baker.
Today's win puts Death Valley at 73-87, while Mexico City falls to 92-68.
