Lake Monsters Post 4-1 Win Over Keg Creek
Vermont starter Hoyt Murphy pitched well against the Keg Creek Coyotes at Coyote Den Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-1. Murphy went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 10 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 15-5. The third-place Coyotes have lost 4 straight games.

Carlos Delgado dealt the Coyotes a blow in the top of the second. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Vermont leading 1-0, Delgado, who finished 5th in the AP in ERA with 2.49 last year, hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single.
