Bearers Earn 5-3 Home Win
The St. Paul Bearers beat the Boston Revolution, 5-3, at Casket County Stadium. The win was due in part to first baseman Sean Gardner, who was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times. Melvin Flowers earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. He upped his record to 3-0. The third-place Bearers have won 4 in a row.

In the top of the ninth, Stanley Bates stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Revolution were trailing 5-3, but had runners on 2nd and 3rd. That's when Bob McKinney made a terrific pitch and Bates lined out. Gone was the dream of a Boston comeback.
