Led by Gary Escamilla, the St. Paul Bearers downed the Mexico City Diablos, 4-3. Escamilla hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Bearers. The win for the Bearers raised their record to 81-81.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Escamilla hit a fastball from Stan Webb for a solo home run. The Bearers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
