Jail Break Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Mashers, 3-1
|
Fernando Segura pitched well, but the Crab Apple Cove Mashers still lost the game, falling 3-1 to the Alcatraz Island Jail Break at Vargas Field. The winner in relief was Chalis Kilonzo. He is now 2-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The Jail Break, now 15-3, have hit the ground running this season.
Alcatraz Island used a timely hit from Scot Potter to get the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Jail Break ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Potter.
