The West Island Storm got a superb performance from pitcher Ron Collins, but the Amarillo Chicken Haulers still won the game, 4-2. Collins threw 8.0 innings allowing 4 runs. Losses have been rare for the Storm, who are now 13-5.
The Chicken Haulers got a big at-bat from third baseman Scott Fessler. For the game, Fessler went 1-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Amarillo a 2-1 lead.
"Nice win for us," said Fessler. "Now we'll go after the next one."
