Philadelphia Bats Quiet in 8-0 Loss
|
Havana picked up a win at The Ballpark at Habanos Stadium, bumping off the Philadelphia Cheesesteaks, 8-0. Pitcher Roberto García was a major reason the Comrades emerged victorious. García got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. He allowed no runs. The win gives Havana a record of 11-7.
Bob Taylor had a big bases-clearing double for the Comrades in the bottom of the second inning. With Havana leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from former first round draft pick Doug Benson and swatted a double to left. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Comrades ahead, 4-0.
"Roberto gave us a heck of an effort," said Havana manager .
