Behind a fine performance from Sergio López, the West Island Storm knocked off the Amarillo Chicken Haulers, 7-3. López belted 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Storm. Mark Lewis got the win, improving to 1-1. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 10 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 0.

Sean Woodard, the 31-year old third baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Woodard contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put West Island up, 4-2.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said López.

Early on, the Storm, at 14-5, have excelled.
