Starting pitcher Chris Mitchell pitched well enough to help the Honolulu High Tide beat the West Island Storm, 5-3. Reliever Edgar Arroyo picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Juan Hernández took the loss. The Storm, now 5-15, continue their sluggish start.

Honolulu took a 3-2 lead on Robert Wade's 3rd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Wade hit in the bottom of the eighth, left West Island pitcher Kenny Goldsmith visibly frustrated.

"Chris is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Honolulu manager .
