Aces Win at Washington, 4-2
|
The Washington Monuments got a superb performance from pitcher Riley Miller, but the Atlantic City Aces still won the game, 4-2. Miller threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball. Picking up the win was Cory Clark. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 7 and walked 2. Paco Cruz picked up the save, his 3rd.
Atlantic City used the clutch hitting of Tatsukichi Tsuchiya to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Aces the lead, 2-1. For the game, Tsuchiya had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"Nice to get this one," said Tsuchiya. "Wins have been hard to come by."
The Aces, with only their 5th win in 20 games, have not had much to write home about in 2071.
