Lake Monsters Win with Late Heroics
Vermont turned a good effort from starting pitcher Carlos Delgado into a win over the Keg Creek Coyotes at Welsh Field. The final score was 3-2 in 10 innings. The winner was Iván Ruíz in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Ed Clarke took the loss. The Coyotes fall to 7-15 and continue to sputter in the early going.

The decisive blow was delivered by Roy Anderson in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off former first round draft pick Ed Clarke to win the game for Vermont. The home crowd went nuts.

"This place was rockin'," Delgado said.
