Cape Canaveral Stays Hot with 2-0 Win
|
George Skinner could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Washington Monuments lost, dropping a 2-0 decision to the Cape Canaveral Launch at The Grand Lodge. Michael Erickson got the win, improving to 2-0. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 6 hits and no runs, while striking out 7 and walking 2. Edward Rascoe finished the game for Cape Canaveral and earned his 5th save.
Dean Lewis, the 29-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Lewis contributed a run-scoring triple in the top of the second inning to put Cape Canaveral up, 2-0.
"Nice to keep our winning streak intact," said Lewis.
Cape Canaveral is now 17-4.
