Border Jumpers Lose By a Run at Iowa, 4-3
|
The Iowa Crop Circles picked up a win at The Cornfield, taking down the Laredo Border Jumpers, 4-3. Starting pitcher Ted Duke was a big reason why. Duke got the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 5 hits and walked 0 over 7.1 innings. Duke allowed 3 runs. Iowa is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 8th win in 22 games.
The Crop Circles got a big at-bat from first baseman Joe Miller. For the game, Miller went 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Iowa a 3-2 lead.
"We'll build on this win," said Duke.
