5-2 Comrades Win over Railbirds Evens Season Record
|
The Havana Comrades picked up a win at The Ballpark at Habanos Stadium, knocking off the Reading Railbirds, 5-2. On the mound for Havana was left-hander Brennan Ramos. He played a key role in the triumph. Ramos got the win, improving to 3-2. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Tom Miller earned the save, his 7th.
Freddy Blandin had a big 2-run home run for the Comrades in the bottom of the second inning. With Havana leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 29-year old right-handed pitcher Fernando Franco and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Comrades on top, 3-0.
Blandin called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
Losses have been few and far between for the Railbirds, now 14-6.
