Ernesto Alary pitched well, but his team, the Cape Canaveral Launch, still dropped a 4-3 decision to the Vermont Lake Monsters at Welsh Field. The winning pitcher was John Hill. He tossed 93 pitches over 5.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits. The Lake Monsters, with just their 5th win so far in 2075, have yet to catch fire.
The Lake Monsters got a big at-bat from designated hitter Paul King. For the game, King went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Vermont a 3-2 lead.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Cape Canaveral manager Mike Best said, following the tough loss.
