Maulers Earn 5-2 Home Win
|
Minneapolis Maulers starter George McCreehy turned in a top-notch performance against the Atlantic City Aces at MacLaren Stadium. The result was a win for the Maulers, 5-2. Greg Douglas sewed up the save, his 1st. Minneapolis goes to 10-11.
David MacKey, who is tied for 5th in the AP in triples with 2, helped out the Minneapolis cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 4.
"I had a good game plan," said McCreehy. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Spoof Smith said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
