Cuervo Trip Railbirds, 4-1
|
San Jose pitcher Rafael Francisco did his part in helping his team defeat the Reading Railbirds, 4-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Francisco yielded 1 run over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 2-1. Sam Harris sewed up the save, his 5th.
Derrick Thomas, who is a two-time All-Star, had a direct impact on the outcome. Thomas contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put San Jose up, 2-0.
"Rafael's stuff looked really, really crisp," said , the Cuervo manager.
The loss puts Reading at 15-7.
