Maulers Need Extra Frames to Get Past Militia
|
Jaime Ruíz was locked and loaded, helping the Minneapolis Maulers beat the Michigan Militia, 1-0. Minneapolis reliever Noriyuki Nan was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Dave Kennedy. Minneapolis is off to a hot start at 2-1.
The Maulers relied on second baseman Gonzalo Soto for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 14th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"I was a little disappointed," said Michigan manager Johnny Rose. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
