Coyotes Capture Close Win
|
The Keg Creek Coyotes downed the Amarillo Chicken Haulers, 2-1, at The Chicken Coop. Stellar pitching by Jesse Parker had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who finished 5th in the AP in innings pitched with 218.2 in 2063, handcuffed his opponent all game. The win went to Alan Johnson in relief, making him now 2-3. Ryan Wheeler took the loss for Amarillo. The Chicken Haulers fall to 10-15 and continue their lackluster start in 2072.
Wilson Espinosa, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2060 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Espinosa contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Keg Creek up, 2-1.
"We'll build on this win," said Espinosa.
