Monuments Squelch Militia Offense in Shutout Win
|
Washington played host to Michigan at The Grand Lodge.
The Washington Monuments downed the Michigan Militia, 6-0, at The Grand Lodge. Starring for Washington was pitcher António Rocha. Nathan Foreman earned the save, his 1st.
Kyle Ledbrook had a big 2-run double for the Monuments in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Washington leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from Mathew Rhodes, the 2nd overall pick in the 2067 draft, and swatted a double to right. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Monuments ahead, 3-0.
"When António is on, he can really move the ball around," said Washington manager .
No one expected much of this team, but the hot start by Washington might have some re-evaluating their pre-season predictions. This latest win lifts their record to 16-9.
