The Reading Railbirds topped the Philadelphia Cheesesteaks, 7-5, in Frontier action at Schuylkill Landing Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Reading pitcher Carlos Caro. In 5 innings, Caro surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. Jim Hines locked down his 6th save.

Making an impact for the home team was Dave Rouse. In the bottom of the second, the fan favorite had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 3-1, Railbirds.
