The Minneapolis Maulers withstood an impressive performance by Michigan first baseman Israel Rivera to defeat the Militia, 4-3, at Assembly Line Grounds. Rivera went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Minneapolis reliever Joe Bishop was the winner. His record is now 3-0. Eduardo Cortéz took the loss. The Maulers have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 6th win in 28 games.

Rory Erickson, the 30-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Erickson contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fifth inning to put Minneapolis up, 3-1.

Erickson attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
