Storm Clip Monuments, 2-1
|
The Washington Monuments wasted an impressive 8-inning effort from starter José Féliz, falling 2-1 to the West Island Storm at Hot Box. Lee Costa picked up the win with 6.2 innings of work. He allowed 1 run on 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 3-2. Juan Marino earned the save, his 6th, for the Storm.
The Storm got an important contribution from left fielder Terry Duncan, who in the bottom of the second punched a 1-2 cutter into left for a solo home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Storm ahead, 2-0.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Washington manager Ed Malloy said following the tough loss.
West Island goes to 18-10 with the win.
