A good performance from left fielder Harvey Turner helped the Laredo Border Jumpers defeat the Crab Apple Cove Mashers, 7-1. Turner was 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Border Jumpers. Fernando Segura was the winner. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 1 run on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts. The Mashers, now 9-18, continue their poor start.

Turner had a key at-bat for Laredo early in the game. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a 2-run triple. It was his 4th triple of the season and gave Laredo an early 2-0 lead.
