2-1 Loss Deepens Crab Apple Cove Funk
|
BackWet Stadium was the site of a true pitchers' duel.
Laredo turned a good effort from starter Keith Houston into a win over the Crab Apple Cove Mashers at BackWet Stadium. The final score was 2-1. Houston picked up the win for Laredo, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 4-1. Andrew Dougherty earned the save for Laredo, his 6th of the year.
Gerardo Maldonado dealt the Mashers a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Laredo leading 1-0, Maldonado, who is tied for 7th in the FR in home runs with 7, hit a first pitch curveball for a run-scoring single.
"Keith was throwing free and easy," said Laredo manager Dave Galindo.
The loss makes the Mashers 9-19.
