Minneapolis second baseman Richard Phillips had 4 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Crab Apple Cove Mashers, 7-6. Dylan Shepard, credited with the win, is now 2-7. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits. Joe Bishop earned the save, his 1st, for the Maulers.

Minneapolis used a clutch hit from José Martínez to get the win. The catcher drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Maulers ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It's a long season," said Phillips. "We'll keep working to improve."

The Mashers fall to 9-20 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2070 season.
