Lake Monsters Need Extra Frames to Get Past Border Jumpers
Vermont picked up a win at BackWet Stadium, toppling the Laredo Border Jumpers, 4-3. Pitcher Hsu Kau was one of the reasons the Lake Monsters triumphed. Eric Bennett, now 2-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Iván Ruíz collected his 6th save.

Juan Martínez, the 29-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Martínez contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put Vermont up, 4-3.

"This was a good win," said Martínez.

Vermont is off to a hot start at 22-10.
