Death Valley Beats Washington, 5-3
|
Washington got a terrific game from shortstop Kurt Barras. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Death Valley, 5-3. Barras went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times. John Gates earned the save for Death Valley, his 6th of the year. With the win, Death Valley has a record of 17-18. Washington falls to 18-16.
Death Valley used the clutch hitting of Vincent Hill to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Burn the lead, 5-2. For the game, Hill had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
Hill attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
