Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Reading Railbirds and Death Valley Burn.

Dave Rouse made an impact in the 5-4 Reading win over Death Valley. Rouse, who finished 5th in the FR in OPS with .865 in 2067, went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Reading reliever José Méndez was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Jason Snell.

Rouse had a timely hit for Reading in the bottom of the eighth. With Death Valley trailing 4-3, he turned a 3-1 changeup into a 2-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season, making it 5-4, Reading.

"This team is real focused right now," said Reading manager Slam Dunks.

The loss has the Burn at 3-2.
