The Reading Railbirds beat the San Jose Cuervo, 13-7, at Schuylkill Landing Park. Jeremy Watson hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. The seven-time All-Star was a menace to San Jose all day. The winner was Reading reliever Martín Burgos, now 2-0. The loser was Kenny Reynolds. San Jose is 2-2 after the loss.

Randy Mays had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the eighth for the Railbirds. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Reading trailing 7-6, he hit a 2-run single.

"Enjoyed this one," Watson told the Reading Daily. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
