Death Valley first baseman Robert Rigney had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 4-3, to Reading at Schuylkill Landing Park. Rigney was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. Reading reliever Héctor Rodríguez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Corbin Jenkins was saddled with the loss. Reading is now 18-20, Death Valley 19-18.

Melvin Miller was the walk-off hero for Reading. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Railbirds designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"It never gets old," said Miller. "Winning, that is."
