Crop Circles Hand Havana 3-2 Loss
|
The Crop Circles grabbed a win, 3-2, at The Ballpark at Habanos Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Havana pitcher Octávio Pérez. Pérez went 5 innings and allowed 3 runs. Leonard Johnston, 4-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 4.1 innings. Iowa, with the win, is 14-26.
Iowa used a well-timed hit by Larry MacIntosh to capture the win. The center fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Crop Circles ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
