Rivera drives in 5 runs to Fuel Border Jumpers Offense
The home crowd had a good time watching the Philadelphia Cheesesteaks and Laredo Border Jumpers get after it.

Border Jumpers second baseman Israel Rivera left his imprint on his team's 9-1 win over the Philadelphia Cheesesteaks. Rivera was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 5 for Laredo in the contest. The winning pitcher was Kevin Ray. He tossed 93 pitches over 5.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits.

With Laredo leading 4-1 in the bottom of the eighth, Rivera hit a changeup from Javier Martínez for a grand slam home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Border Jumpers ahead, 8-1.

"I felt good up there," said Rivera. "I saw the ball well."

The win puts Laredo at 20-19 this season.
