|
Atlantic City pitcher Mel Brooks did his part in helping his team beat the Honolulu High Tide, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Brooks got the win, improving to 3-0. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 3 runs. The Aces have an impressive 25-15 record.
Jesús Garza had a big solo home run for the Aces in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Atlantic City leading 3-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a curveball from Jin-man Kim, who finished 5th in the AP in wins with 14 in 2072, and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Aces on top, 4-1.
Garza attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
