Comrades Earn 6-1 Win Versus Iowa
|
The Havana Comrades topped the Iowa Crop Circles, 6-1, in Frontier action at The Ballpark at Habanos Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Havana pitcher and Albuquerque, New Mexico, native David Dunlap. In 6.1 innings, Dunlap surrendered 1 hit, while striking out 10 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Havana has an impressive 28-14 record.
Havana left fielder Phil O'Day contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 49th hit of the season and put the Comrades ahead, 2-0.
"It feels good to get this one," O'Day told the Havana Herald.
