Though the conditions were not ideal, the Reading Railbirds and Laredo Border Jumpers came back from a rain delay to finish their game.

The Reading Railbirds beat the Laredo Border Jumpers, 7-4. Reading first baseman and Seattle, Washington, native Chet Hooper led the way. Reading, at 23-22, holds down 4th place in the Frontier Northern.

Reading shortstop Jesús Guzmán helped the Railbirds to the win. In the top of the fourth inning, the fan favorite stroked a 2-run double. For the game, Guzmán was 1-3 with a double and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Guzmán told the Reading Citizen.
