The Crab Apple Cove Mashers eked out a 3-2 win versus the Havana Comrades at Vargas Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Kevin Underwood. He was terrific. Underwood, now 2-0, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 10 hits, while striking out 12, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. Crab Apple Cove, now 3-1, is setting the league on fire so far.

Ed Rebow, who finished 5th in the FR in slugging percentage with .537 in 2068, aided the Crab Apple Cove cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman was 2-4 with a double.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Crab Apple Cove manager Jared Margolies. "It's usually not just one thing."
