Newark registered a win at Falcons Field by beating the Vermont Lake Monsters, 6-2. Pitcher Duncan Watson was one reason why the Falcons triumphed. The second-place Falcons have won 7 consecutive games.

Peter Norman, who is tied for 10th in the AP with a .507 slugging percentage, took Vermont hurler Hoyt Murphy deep in the bottom of the first. His 2-run home run put the Falcons on top, 2-0. In all, Norman had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

In comments to the Newark Daily, Norman insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
