Down Go Aces Again, 3-1
|
The Atlantic City Aces extended their losing streak with a loss to the Minneapolis Maulers.
Starting pitcher Alfredo Careno was a major factor in the 3-1 Minneapolis Maulers triumph over the Atlantic City Aces. Careno went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 9. His record improves to 5-3. Greg Douglas finished the game for Minneapolis and earned his 8th save.
The Maulers got a big at-bat from third baseman Man Lam. For the game, Lam went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave Minneapolis a 2-1 lead.
"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Lam told the Minneapolis Daily News.
Atlantic City has now lost 11 straight.
