The Redstone Ridge Raptors defeated the Reading Railbirds, 5-4. Doing his part was catcher Chad Crouch, who went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Redstone reliever Bob Harris was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Robby Allen. Mike Hurt notched his 7th save of the season.
Redstone first baseman Gilberto Torres helped the Ridge Raptors go up, 5-4, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Torres hit a run-scoring single off Reading pitcher Robby Allen.
"I still have a lot of confidence in this team," Redstone manager Marcus M said afterward.
The 4th-place Railbirds have lost 4 consecutive games.
