Crop Circles Win Streak Reaches 6
|
The Iowa Crop Circles got a marvelous performance from pitcher Erik Watson. The left-hander kept the San Jose offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-2 Iowa victory at Welsh Field. Miguel Cervantes earned the save, his 17th. The Frontier Northern-leading Crop Circles are 28-17.
It could have been a different outcome for Iowa, had it not been for Alfonso Aguilar, the 26-year old third baseman . Aguilar contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put Iowa up, 3-0.
"Erik is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Iowa manager Andy Ward.
