A good performance from first baseman Charlie Roberts helped the Richmond Ravens defeat the Vermont Lake Monsters, 6-5. Roberts went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs for the Ravens. Noriyuki Nan earned the save for Richmond, his 12th of the year. The win lifted the Richmond record to 25-20.

Richmond took a 6-5 lead on Alex Thornton's 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Vermont pitcher Eric Bennett in the bottom of the eighth.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Roberts.
