Starting pitcher Michael Erickson did his part in helping the Cape Canaveral Launch thwart the Washington Monuments, 6-1. Cape Canaveral leads the Appalachian Coastal by 9½ games.
Erickson, who was born in Bartlett, Illinois, threw 107 pitches over 8 innings, while allowing no runs.
"We're a talented bunch when we're playing well," said Erickson. "I think we showed that here."
