Railbirds Rally to Nose Past Redstone
|
The Reading Railbirds grabbed a win, 5-4, over the Redstone Ridge Raptors at The Raptor's Nest. Reading right fielder Roberto Clemente was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win went to Héctor Rodríguez in relief. His record improves to 1-3. David Maddux took the loss. Gonzalo Martínez earned the save for Reading, his 3rd of the year.
Clemente had a timely hit for Reading in the top of the eighth. With Reading trailing 4-3, he turned a 2-2 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season, making it 5-4, Reading.
In postgame comments to the Reading Daily News, Clemente said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The victory puts Reading at 19-29.
