Crab Apple Cove and Iowa duked it out and the Mashers came out victorious.

Iowa got a terrific game from catcher Jon Ashe. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Crab Apple Cove, 8-5. Ashe went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Mashers, now 27-19, have won 7 in a row.

Crab Apple Cove third baseman Carl Allen contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 6th hit of the season and put the Mashers ahead, 5-0.

"The tide will turn," said losing manager Andy Ward. "We just need to keep our chins up."
